Right now, our physical home is in Waller, Texas. We have been here for just about 3 months now and we love it. The first question almost everyone has asked us is why we chose to move to Texas when we had everything we needed and wanted at our home in Utah...?
It was not an easy thing to move our home and leave our family, friends and all we knew behind. The only thing we knew for sure, was that as we talked, prayed, and attended the temple together, we felt the OVERWHELMING Spirit tell us this was the path we needed to take.
Nothing was going our way as we attempted to get things set in motion to move across the country. We thought to ourselves that maybe we made the wrong decision and didn't understand why all of these "bumps" in the road kept occurring. We moved forward with our plans after continuing to pray and let the Holy Spirit guide us.
After getting settled in, in Waller, right next door to Tanner's grandparents, things finally started coming together it seemed. Tanner got a great job right away, many unsettled things in Utah became quickly settled, I got a calling teaching Relief Society twice a month, we got to spend a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa Adams, and I was waiting on my working license to process so I could get a job. After waiting for almost 2 months I finally got my Physical Therapist Assistant license and had a job.
We were feeling good. :-) Little did we know Heavenly Father had even more in mind for us that would make our lives even better.
Tanner and I both received callings in the church the Sunday before I was to start my new job. Tanner was called to be the 2nd counselor in the Young Mens Presidency which includes being the Deacons Quorum Adviser and the Scout Master. He was and still is extremely excited and terrified about his calling. So much to learn and so many young men to get to know and assist in teaching them the Gospel. He is perfect for the job though. Very patient, hard working and loves camping. (I'm jealous about the camping)
My calling changed from teaching Relief Society (which I love and miss) to being the Primary President... Yeah. My first thought was, WHAT?!?! Out of all the calling there were in the church for me this was the last one I EVER thought I'd be asked to serve in. I didn't know anything about primary other than the little I learned while teaching in our North Ogden Ward. (Thank goodness for that calling) I prayed and prayed to know who to call as my counselors. I had only met a few people in the ward so far since we were still so new, so I REALLY had to rely on the Lord to help me know who would be best suited for my counselors and secretary.
As I look back on the last month now... It AMAZES me how the Lord has inspired and taught me SO much since being set apart in this calling. Sarah Lee, Olivia Alvis and Hallie Figgins are exactly who the Primary needed. This calling has FORCED me to grow in ways I never thought I would. The spirit we feel in our home as Tanner and I both study and learn together, teach each other and try to do all we can to magnify our callings has been the best thing in the walls of our home.
We have been able to be apart of missionary lessons, fellowshipping, service and ward activities that have confirmed to us why we were brought to Waller, Texas. Within the Walls of Our Home is where the Lord knows we learn the most. It does not matter where that "home" is as long as it is centered around Christ and we follow his example. The Lord guides us to where he needs us to be as long as we listen to him and let him enter our hearts. I know without a doubt that My Heavenly Father hears my prayers and knows my EVERY desire. If we can continue to pray and read our scriptures he will always dwell Within the Walls of Our Home.
